- UPDATE: Gov. Chris Christie heads to E. Raymond Appleby Elementary School in Spotswood to add another tool to the tool-kit wish list for addressing government spending, this a measure aimed at school costs. He's joined by Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Education Commissioner Bret Schundler.
- Two Senate committees meet: The Senate Environment & Energy Committee at 10 a.m., and the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation Committee at 1 p.m.
- Rutgers University's Board of Governors meets in New Brunswick. Agenda includes setting tuition, fees and room & board costs for 2010-11.
- State House Commission meets in Trenton. Agenda includes leasing state parkland to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co.
- The Innovation NJ coalition of businesses and higher education institutions is announced at AT&T Global Network Operations Center in Bedminster, at an event hosted by AT&T New Jersey President Michael Schweder. Guadagno will be speaking.
- In events in Collingswood and Red Bank, Division of Highway Traffic Safety director Pam Fischer, local and state government and law enforcement officials and local and state business community representatives announce the towns participating in a federally funded grant program designed to educate motorists and pedestrians about safely sharing the road. Initiative places undercover officers, posing as pedestrians, in crosswalks.
- At the Hamilton office of the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women, Attorney General Paula Dow attends as the Beyond Diversity Resource Center issues a report on the progress that participating New Jersey organizations have made in providing culturally competent services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Event also features Pamela Smith Chambers, training director of the Beyond Diversity Resource Center; Sandy Clark, acting executive director of the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women; Jane Shivas, associate executive director of Jersey Battered Women’s Service; and Robin Parker, executive director of the Beyond Diversity Resource Center.
